"I used to think that one day I was gonna arrive at happy, and just stay there" Halsey reveals in a new interview with RADIO.COM and Channel Q. "Like, alright cool I'm good now. All I got to do is work really hard to get to happy and then I will stay at happy."

"That's not true."

The "Without Me" singer opened up about her sexuality and mental health in the wide-ranging interview with host Mikalah Gordon recently, talking about the process of properly understanding both. "Your experiences with mental health are a journey, not a destination" she adds.

"It's a constant, constant battle, which seems discouraging" explains the star. "The one thing I like to always remind myself is, your struggle will never get better it will just always get different and you will get more equipped to handling it."

In addition, Halsey also dug into the evolution of "coming out", and how it remains a continuous process. "You're never done coming out. You're just kinda always coming out" she laughs. As an artist, she says that people in her industry were very supportive, but there was some early opposition from others questioning her choices after her first major label video featured her in a relationship with another woman. "I think it was my own naivety, but I was like, 'yeah, why wouldn't I?'"
