Badflower Delivers Light-Hearted Take on Mental Health with “x ANA x” Video

A unique and exciting spin on serious topics

Badflower has quickly established themselves as a band to watch with slow-burning hit “Ghost,” an honest and vulnerable take on mental health. The slow and emotional song hits home with lead singer Josh Katz noting he used it as a sort of therapy to cope with his thoughts.

Now, the California rockers are diving into a totally different take on the same topic. “x ANA x” is a gritty and playful song that stresses the struggles that come from issues with mental health, naming it a sickness that may not land you in the doctor but can have you feeling just as weak.

When smushed together, the title reads “Xanax,” making the video a theater production about the anti-anxiety medication. The song breaks down both the stigma of talking about mental health and of being prescribed medications for it in a way that somehow manages to be serious and hilarious at the same time.

Mental health, alcohol and drug abuse, addiction, and relapses are very real.
