Corey Taylor Discusses Struggle with Addiction and Readies for Bright Future with Slipknot

Slipknot recently shared their first new music in four years. With the release of the ferocious “All Out Life” comes a vulnerable interview with lead singer Corey Taylor discussing his past struggles but focusing on exciting things to come. 

Taylor has been open about his battles with addiction and mental health, leaving behind his dark past and focusing on continued success with Slipknot and Stone Sour.  “I’m also just starting to make peace with the fact that there are dark pieces of my chapters that I’ve had to relinquish and let go of,” he noted in an interview with Zane Lowe.

Taylor is diving into his career while balancing continuing to fight off dark desires. He’s learning to embrace himself, to focus on his kids, and to “get out of my own head and enjoy the things that I have.”

“I’m dealing with all of these crazy things in my life that make me ‘me’, and yet I should be embracing the fact that I’m alive.”
